OLIVER DEAN LAHR
Outstanding American from the State of Colorado

Oliver Dean Lahr graduated from Denver North High School in 1960. He went on to attain his BS and MA degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business from the University of Colorado and earned his International Business degree from the University of Oregon in 1975. He wrestled for CU (1960-1964) and was a member of the U.S. Wrestling Team (1963 and 1965). He was the Denver City champion in 1959 and 1960 and a state champion in 1960 with a career prep record of 60-3. He earned a full ride scholarship to play football at CU, but dropped the sport after his sophomore year to concentrate on wrestling. He won two NCAA titles at 171-pounds (1963-1964) and was the MVP of the 1964 National Championships and selected as the Outstanding Wrestler in the NCAA tournament that year. He was the first wrester from CU to win an NCAA title, had a college record of  70-4, and he was unbeaten as a junior and senior. He placed fourth in the 1963 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. He also won two national AAU titles and three Rocky Mountain AAU titles. He currently resides in Eugene, Oregon and is the President of International Woods, Inc. in Eugene. He is married to Beverly Ann and they have two children, Randall and Brady Lee.
